cycle Festival '92, August 16-19. For the first time, the Festival will move out of tents and off dirt roads to the comforts of dorm rooms, endless hot water, paved parking lots and much, much more. Gay theater festival. The 1993 International Gay-Lesbian Theatre Festival will bring over 35 theatre companies from around the world to Phoenix, Arizona from May 28 thru June 6, 1993. The festival has been established to bring together gay, lesbian and kindred spirit theatre companies to showcase both original and published gay and lesbian works. Drama, musicals, comedy, cabaret acts, performance artists, music and dance will be featured. Playwrights and directors will also conduct workshops and seminars on various topics. The Berlitz Gallery Theatre will serve as the official host for the festival with the Buttes

Youth program referrals wanted--The National Coming Out Day Campaign is looking to augment information and referral lists of youth oriented programs and services (brochures, hotlines, drop-in centers, rap groups, videos) that support gay and lesbian youth in their coming out process. "Never before have I been aware of so many young gay and lesbian people wanting to be open about their lives," said Lynn Shepodd, executive director of National Coming Out Day, a national, educational organization named for its annual October 11 event. Milwaukee round-up in September. Commitment '92 is the seventh annual round-up sponsored by Milwaukee and Wisconsin's gay and lesbian A.A. groups with participation by Al-Anon, N.A., and several other 12-step groups. The weekend conference provides a time and place for the
gay and lesbian recovering community to come together to share our struggles and our triumphs in overcoming alcoholism and other addictions. In addition, there's a Friday night original play-Meetings, Meditation, & Murder--a Saturday night dance, · and a Sunday brunch all included in the registration price of $30 (before August 28; $35 after). Gay divers do it underwater! Undersea Expeditions of San Francisco announced a new series of trips for gay and lesbian scuba divers, snorkelers, their friends and significant others. Designed for the warm water enthusiast, these trips will appeal to

Flag football in the Games. L.A. Motion Flag Football, a gay flag football league based in Los Angeles, is seeking interested teams and individuals from across the country to participate in the sport in the 1994 Gay Games in New York City. Games organizers in New York have listed flag football as a "possible or probable" sport for 1994, but need a demonstration of interest from around the nation. L.A. Motion plays seven-man flag football, with basic football rules and stresses participation and sportsmanship. More than 60 players from all skill levels competed in the group's initial fall and winter leagues. Couples resource list available. In the last few years, same-sex couples have formed dozens of social groups around the nation, according to Partners Magazine for Gay & Lesbian Couples. (One such group in the Cleveland area is Monotones, at P.O. Box 612, Lakewood, 44107.)
The magazine is developing a list of these groups to add to its free resource list, which contains nearly a hundred organizations, books and films with a couples focus. One stop gay giving. United We Stand, a California-based nonprofit corporation, has been formed to provide financial and organizational support to existing agencies serving the gay and lesbian community. Functioning as a specialized version of the traditional Community Chest or United Way, this new appeal allows oversolicited benefactors to support a range of worthy lesbian and gay causes throughout the United States with a single donation. Newsletter for gay men. The International Gay Men's Newsletter is celebrating its first anniversary. The newsletter focuses on a wide cross section of gay men, offering an opportunity to meet each other for friendships or relationships without discrimination as to size, age, race, nationality or physical challenge. The newsletter is distributed to 3,000 gay men all over the world and is sold in over fifty bookstores in the U.S., Canada and Europe, and is available on tape. Prisoner anthology submissions. Cold Iron, an anthology of writing and art by and about lesbian, gay and queer prisoners, is seeking submissions. Any work that reflects the experiences and concerns of gay, lesbian or queer prisoners, their lovers, families or friends will be considered, especially articles that are the result of collaboration between prisoners and non-prisoners.
